On Saturday was Wade's 30th birthday. And he (& Colleen) in their very typical genourous spirit for which everyone loves them treated us! to a wonderful afternoon!
Some roast lamb, roast beef (from Wade's very own butcher shop), potatoes, pumpkin, beetroot and fresh real homemade lunch rolls all cooked in the community woodfired oven at the park with all the local crew - ABSOLUTLY FABULOUS !! yummy scrummy & good times. Hey Wade if you read this THANK YOU - All the best for the next 30! no photo's flat batteries ...
And then there was the Tupperware party. The bestest Tupperware party ever. Natalie our very own awarded 'australian chef apprentice of the year' - serious! , turned on a fantastic girls night out for all the ladies at Waddingtons, where she works. Tupperware first, feasting next! perfect. Can I remeber exactly what we ate - umm, well the beetroot arancini's (spelling ???) beetroot and rice balls deep-fried (starters) were very good, even converted a few non beetroot eaters ! mains were a buffet of .. oh gosh - just excellent dishes - loved the poppyseed dressing on the salad!
Must now take my darling hubby on a date out to Waddingtons !

Museum Victoria
Weekend before last we went down to Melbourne to visit Anna & Arum. Great visit! And we had some good fun Monday around town while our car was getting a new windscreen (yes already ! & is only 5 months old ... ).
We went to the Melbourne Aquaruim with kind of low expectations as we have been to other aquaruims and just thought it would be more of the same old .. but we were pleasantly surprised. It is very good!
From there we got on the Free ! City Circle Historic Trams, they are fun, and took the city circle route to the Museum of Victoria. Very cool ! That's where we took the above photo's of the girls. Great interactive sites for all the family. Excellent hands on experiences for children & lovely FREAK YOU OUT stuffed MAMMOTH sized snakes , spiders and so on and on. We ran out of time, I'm sure we will re-vist many times. Then it was around and down the corner to IMAX. We chose to watch the Safari documentary. In 3D you could hardly imagine that it would be better than the real thing with the lions walking RIGHT by the VERY front of your nose. Truly !! we reached out to touch and or took our glasses of when it was just too confronting !

On my Soapbox !
This news has caught my attention today ..
Just cannot believe there are parents out there who would think of this. Lesbian parents aside - this could just have easily been a typically " mum and dad" scenario .... how does anyone decide to sue a doctor because you have concieved twins! and then to sue to cover the costs of raising one of them, when you were only expecting one , as opposed to a pair ???
Our twins are of the "organic home grown variety", so gosh, yep they cost a bit a more but really this couple could have ended up with twins anyway even if there was only 1 egg implanted!
They have lost their case - for now, let's hope this justice is upheld if they choose to pursue higher courts.
The lesbian mothers of IVF twin girls have lost a legal bid to sue their doctor for the cost of raising one of the toddlers.
The women, whose names have been suppressed, sued prominent Canberra obstetrician Sydney Robert Armellin for more than $400,000 for implanting two embryos instead of the requested one.
The ACT Supreme Court on Thursday ruled in favour of Dr Armellin, and ordered the couple pay his legal costs.
The IVF procedure, which used sperm from a Danish donor, resulted in the birth of twin girls, now aged four.
The couple, whose combined income is more than $100,000, sought $398,000 from Dr Armellin to cover the costs of raising one of the girls, including fees for a private Steiner school in Melbourne.
The court was told the twins' birth mother had lost her capacity to love and the couple's relationship suffered as they became mired in everyday tasks associated with raising two children.
But Dr Armellin's lawyer said loss of freedom was experienced commonly by parents across Australia.
The couple said it was Dr Armellin's responsibility to ensure his patient's wishes were carried out during the operation at Canberra's John James Memorial Hospital on November 12, 2003.
Dr Armellin countered by saying the birth mother only told him she wanted one embryo minutes before she was sedated, after previously signing a form consenting for up to two embryos to be implanted.
The case, before Justice Annabelle Bennett, sparked nationwide condemnation of the women in the media.
The mothers issued a statement during the civil proceedings arguing the case had nothing to do with their feelings towards their daughters, but with Dr Armellin's failure to comply with their wishes.
"This has never been a case about whether our children are loved," they said in a handwritten statement.
"They are cherished."
The couple's solicitor Thena Kyprianou said her clients, who live in Melbourne, were shocked by the decision.
"They're disappointed," Ms Kyprianou told reporters.
"They said they are shocked and that they will consider their options further once they have an opportunity to read the judgment."
Ms Kyprianou said the publicity surrounding the case had destroyed her clients' privacy.
Dr Armellin's barrister Kim Burke said her client was relieved but mindful the women have 28 days to decide whether to lodge an appeal.
Justice Bennett decided the suppression order on the women's names should be lifted, but she stayed her ruling for 28 days to allow them to appeal if they wished.
She said Dr Armellin had not breached his duty of care to the girls' birth mother and was therefore not negligent.
The women did not mention they only wanted one embryo implanted, instead of two, the day before the procedure during a conversation with staff at the fertility centre, Justice Bennett said.
"The plaintiff had the right to choose the number of embryos to be transferred, they also had the responsibility to communicate that decision," she said.
Justice Bennett said if she had found Dr Armellin to be negligent, then the plaintiffs' actions would have contributed to the negligence.

The Queens Birthday
Well lucky us we have a queen - cause we get to celebrate her birthday each year with a long week-end !
We spent our Monday at Mount Buffalo National Park with good friends. Even though it was a bit damp we still had a good time.
