October

Been everywhere, done much and so much more to do and so much still to be done that should be done ...

The best bits .
* Carine & Lyndo's wedding
* Meeting new friends at the wedding
* 4 whole glorius days with Brad all to myself ! :)
* A Sunday spent with Phil and Michelle
* Hanging out in beautiful Glenelg,
* My Crabapple tree's flowering
* A picnic in the park with all the mums and all the new babies :) (& now there's one more! .. Josh Thompson born 21st Oct. )
* The kids having a holiday at Carrathool with their Grandma & Grandad, (while we went to S.A. )

The not so good.
* Truly the drought has gone on far too long .. is it a drought ? when do we start calling it the new climate conditions. When will Dad revise the 'average' rainfall expected for his property ... when I was growing up it was allways "24 inches per year" . It's been a loong time now ... since he ever saw 24 inches per year on that property ... Truly in all my 33 years, it has never looked worse , and truth is it couldn't. When the paddocks are bare - totally - .. then they can not be any barer .

Well on that cheery note :)
here are some pics of the beautiful bride and the bridal party.

Neah's moment of fame !

This afternoon after school I had some one on one time with Neah. (Always a treat for me, though is supposedly a treat for her ! ).

We were going shopping for 3 of her little friends who have birthdays coming up. We noticed in the shopping center some great photo's, part of the Centro Smile competition. We were having a good laugh at some of them, even recognised a couple of friends and were on our way when is came to our attention there were more photo's on the back ... what a surprise!!!!!!

honestly could hardly believe it! I had 'tried' to enter, 3 photo's actually one each of the girls, but thought that the upload had not worked ....

Neah was most impressed! :) and got a good case of the giggles :)

A finalist will be chosen according to how many votes each photio recieves. (there are 20) We do get to keep the photo though which is printed in great quality onto board ! and fairly big !

Will be fun to have on the wall at home !

Weston & Comfort

Comfy, just turned one.

Weston on a baby camel. Yep they have camels as well as cattle on thier 'outback' station. :) Weston is 3.
Take a look at these gorgous kids! They are my brother, Roger's children, they live far away so I don't get to see them half as much as I'd like. Was glad to get these photo's in the mail today.

Home Cooked Feasts

Way back in Feburary I entered an ABC radio/website competition. Submit an original recipe along with a little blurb about how and when (occasion) you cook it. Well I forgot all about it until just a few days ago when I recieved an e-mail to say that the judges, Maggie Beer (who makes my favouritest pate, yum.) and Valli Little the editor of the excellent 'Delicious' magazine selected my little recipe. You know what I coudnt even remeber what is was! . But with a little racking of my brain I'm pretty sure it was nothing more exciting than a cucumber and watermelon salad! Something I made a lot of last summer due to an over abundant amount of cucumbers in my vegie garden.

I look forward to reciving my complimentary copy late in November!

The Opera House

What a wonderful weekend I had with Brad. Just us, (thanx to mum for looking after the children at home), from Thursday to Sunday afternoon. Lovely staying again with Aunty Joy, Uncle Ross & Brad's cousins Adam & Cam.

Brad's Aunty Judy was married to Lionel whom obviously adores Judy so very much, at the Opera House in grand but beautifully understated style at sunset on Friday evening against the back drop of the Harbour Bridge. We enjoyed meeting new friends and catching up with family.

On Saturday we had brunch with Annita and Richie who are off now for an extended holiday in Darwin - lucky them ! Spent the afternoon at my old haunts (15 years ago !! ), Chatswood shopping and the most beautiful shopping center ever, The Queen Victoria Building. Topped it all of with with a romantic harbourside dinner at The Rocks.

Annndd back to reality with a thud, arrived home Sunday afternoon to sick children :)

Oh & Neah - she had her athletics carnival on the Friday - we rang at lunch tome to see how she was going and she had won 5 blue ribbons and a green ! Asking her what races they were for the answer was , "well... I ran all the way around (800m), then 1/2 way around (400m), then just a little bit (50m), did long jump, shot put and got the green ribbon for tunnell ball" . Wow. She's our star!

few pics from my mobi. more from Brad's later.
