1st day to school

Olympia & Marilla started 'real' school last week. Neah is new at this school also and they are all doing very well, I'm so proud of them ! (Olly & Rilla are in separate clesses - so far it seems this was the right choice).

Random summer school holiday stuff

Australia Day we went and spent the day out with Derek, Anthea, Bailey & Greg , Rachel, & kids. After a morning tea at the Mount Beauty cafe we then mosied on up to Falls Creek. Walked in to Wallace's Hut. (Old historic cattlemans shelter) and had a picnic. This is the only picture I got of before the batteries died ..

We bought a camper trailer (on e-bay ! yay for e-bay ! ) and the kids had fun sleeping in it in our backyard for a few days. Looking forward to giving it a proper outing at Easter time.

And it's just been tooooo hot ! days and days of 40 plus are seeming to become weeks of 40 plus . So the kids take wet face cloths to bed, we stay indoors, the kids are kept in their classrooms all day, we swim in the lake, we swim in the neighbours pool, wear as little clothing as is possibly decent :) and the kids have fun imagining all the other places to live ! Neahs's favourite idea so far is to build an igloo. Stay cool, x

Baby Lewis

Once upon a time, and not so long ago it seems , we had our very own special "Mary Poppins". Helping me, and giving lots of love to my three little girls when they were all so little. Ok, so her real name is Karlynda (& yes she is v. special) & is most commonly known by family & friends as 'Poppy'. Well she (& proud hubby, Wayne) has a her very own baby now. Was much fun to to visit them recently and meet Lewis :)

Scooting ..

We love to expend some energy on the Lake Hume dam wall, especially with a friend (in this instance Jamieson). And stop and look out and down at the mighty Murray River, all the turtles, pelicans, and big ugly looking european carp !

Bonjour 09 !

well, where to begin ? what to tell ?

The kids were well rewarded at their end of year school presentation. Neah receiving again a Principals Award for exemplary behaviour for the entire year, Marilla for careful craft work and Olympia for excellent tracing ! Next year - oops, this year (!) they are all starting at a new school, we are moving along up the road a wee bit to Trinity Anglican College. lots of reasons, the positive ones being that there is a strong possibility of Trinity sending a school bus out our way ... fingers crossed .. & Olly & Rilla will benefit from being able to go in separate classes. Will be rather different - quiet I guess for me with all the children of at school, is their a word for that - empty nester or something ??

Had a very happy xmas. Christmas day was lots of fun for the kids, & feasting for us adults! The kids were duly paid a visit from Santa & are enjoying their new toys, littlest pet shops, polly pockets, an ant circus, a couple of 100 piece jigsaws (which I hoped would fill in a bit of holiday time, but they can get them done in next to no time lol ) & various bits & pieces. I was spoilt with a new camera, a pretty little pink Nikon. small & light enough to hang out in my handbag, no more missing those impromptu shots :) .
So here's a few pics .

Ahh yes - the feasting .. well, was a combined effort & produced spectacular results, Anna, Anthea, Rach & myself each took a part of this menu

highly recommended :)

The last evening of 08 was a wonderful end to the year, wednesday night fellowship meeting - subject : peace . Then went round to Rach & Gregs spent a wee while there then left the kids to play and Brad & I went to our neighbour, Tracey's 40th B'day for a bit then back to Greg & Rach's to see the New Year in & watch the fireworks from their verandah. Late night - but a goodie. !
Spent a bit of time catching up with an old friend, Carine who's 'home' with her brand new hubby Lyndon for xmas. Yay ! wonderful to get to know Lyndo better, and forge new friendships !

starting to ramble now ... better stop :)
